Pools of Money: USC Grad Funding Opportunities

Hey grad and professional students – need funding? Learn the secrets to dipping into the various pools of money available to you at USC. This hour-long workshop hosted by the GPSS Academic Affairs Committee will provide information about grants, fellowships, and other funding sources on campus. Our panelists include Assistant Dean Stephanie J. Ferguson (Graduate School) and Samuel Ortiz (Financial Aid). Lunch is provided. Can the Presidents!

Friendly can-drive competition between GPSS and USG. Aim: To collect enough cans in the president’s offices to drive them out.
Bring your canned goods to HSH 100 (Hazel and Stanley Hall- behind the bookstore) or the respective bins on HSC between November 9 -20! Winner gains bragging rights and loser funds upcoming joint-holiday community service event. Collected cans will be donated to Midnight Mission and LA missions, local organizations servicing Skid Row.

Sunshine Mission Dinner

GPSS is participating in a Thanksgiving dinner at Sunshine Mission is a homeless women’s shelter on Hoover/Adams. The OT department has been hosting a Thanksgiving dinner for the past several years. Volunteer your talents! Looking for decorators, public relations, entertainment chair, raffle host, collecting local donations, gift bag chair, and food gatherers. Friends and Neighbors Service Day!

USC Volunteer Center hosts these one day service events that take place on Saturdays throughout the school year and provide a great opportunity to meet fellow students as well as get involved in the surrounding community. Some of the past projects included beautification, community gardening, friendly visiting, hunger and homelessness, and painting projects, etc.
GPSS and USG will have a joint group representing on Friends and Neighbors Service Day. If you are interested in volunteering (or have a specific project in mind), please contact gpsscs@usc.edu

The event starts from 9:00pm and there is no cover charge for USC students before 10:30pm. Try to be there around 9:30pm in order to avoid the line at the door. The club has limited space and we can accommodate limited number of students so please do not email us if the RSVP list is full.
