Please donate your non-perishable food items for the Midnight Mission and/or new, unopened toys for the Shriner's Children Hospital. Donation boxes will be at the GPSS HSC office and at the annual Thanksgiving Dinner on November 20, 2008. 1 raffle/item donated and wonderful prizes to be awarded at the dinner. Thank you for your kind donations.

Friends and Neighbors Day

Signup between 10/17/2008-11/21/2008) Friends and Neighbors Service Day is a one-day volunteer blitz during which students and USC faculty and staff go out into the community to do service projects that range from gardening, painting and cleaning. The November Friends and Neighbors Service Day takes place during National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. Projects are geared to serve the impoverished men, women, and children of Los Angeles through food deliveries, donation assembly, and fundraising. Whether volunteers choose to register as part of a service team, work with faculty as part of SCitizen, or become a Service Mentor on a project with high school students, they will gain a deeper understanding of the broader social issues inflicting thousands of Los Angelenos.
