Use of the Graduate Programming Fee

The proceeds of the graduate programming fee are administered by the Graduate and Professional Student Senate.  The Graduate and Professional Student Senate provides funding for

  1. Student Umbrella Organizations
Each graduate or professional student is automatically a member of the umbrella organization of her or his school or Department.  For example, a Law student is a member of the Student Bar Association or a graduate student in the Viterbi School of Engineering is a member of the Viterbi Graduate Student Association.
  2. Conference Travel Fund
The Conference Travel Fund supports graduate and professional students presenting original research at conferences.
  3. Funding Boards
Recognized student organizations can apply for financial support for events through various funding boards.
  1. Free Legal Counseling
The Graduate and Professional Student Senate offers in cooperation with the Undergraduate Student Government a free legal counseling service for students.

The Graduate and Professional Student Senate also organizes a wide range of academic and social programming.  For example, popular events are grad bars, excursions, book clubs and the graduate poster symposium.
